A telegraphic message was received in Edinburgh on Thursday evening, from the Police authorities in Birmingham, to apprehend a young man suspected of forging his employer’s name, and obtaining, by the fraudulent signature, the sum of £80 from one of the banks there. The young man had fled from Birmingham about a week before, and was supposed to be in the neighbourhood of this city. Within an hour the fugitive was apprehended by M’Levy, who dexterously traced him out ; and the same night, intimation of the capture was telegraphed to Birmingham, from whence an officer was immediately despatched for the prisoner, with whom he returned on Saturday morning.
